Character Counts Awards and Humanitarian Award

City Seeking Nominations for the 2018 Robert Barnard Character Counts Awards and 2018 Humanitarian Award
Individuals will be recognized for outstanding service and contributions

Each year, the City of Highland Park oversees two distinct awards, the Robert Barnard Character Counts Awards and the Humanitarian Award. Both awards are a testament to the community’s leadership and passion for helping others. The City is now accepting nominations for each award.
The Robert Barnard Character Counts Award is presented by the City of Highland Park, North Shore School District 112, Township High School District 113 and the Character Counts Steering Committee, and recognizes and honors students, residents and members of the business community for consistently demonstrating the six pillars of character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship. The Character Counts Steering Committee is accepting nominations for the awards through Monday, March 12, 2018.
The Human Relations Commission (HRC) established the Highland Park Humanitarian award to recognize an individual who has rendered outstanding service to the Highland Park community. Any resident who has a record of substantial and sustained service or, through his or her efforts, made a significant contribution to changing lives in the Highland Park community, may be nominated. Areas of service may include, but are not limited to, education, charitable work, philanthropy, environmental advocacy, public policy, and promoting the welfare of this community and its residents. The HRC is accepting nominations for the 2018 Humanitarian Award through Monday, March 12, 2018.
