Due to COVID-19, the City of Highland Park has adjusted certain administrative services. New dog license applications are currently being accepted by mail as described below.
Pursuant to the City of Highland Park Code Section 90.005, every dog that is housed within the corporate limits of the City and that is more than six (6) months of age must be registered with and licensed by the City. Dog Licenses are $12 for unaltered dogs and $7 for spayed or neutered dogs (proof required).
A current rabies vaccination certificate must be provided to the Finance Department to purchase a City Dog License.
Dog owners must also sign an affidavit stating receipt and acknowledgement of the Responsible Pet Ownership Pamphlet outlining dog regulations in the City of Highland Park. This affidavit is required to be signed once per household and is not required annually for license renewal.
