EASTWOOD AVENUE STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENTS

INVITATION FOR BIDS

The City of Highland Park will receive sealed bids for the:

 EASTWOOD AVENUE STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENTS

until 11:00 a.m., March 28, 2019

 This work consists of the construction of 575’ of 18” storm sewer along the centerline of the roadway, along with the installation of 5 manholes, 7 catch basins, and 110’ of 12” lateral storm sewers. The 425 square yards of pavement removed for the storm sewer construction will be replaced with full depth, warm-mix asphalt patches.  1,225 feet of combination curb and gutter will be removed and replaced with type M-4.12 combination concrete curb and gutter.  1,520 square yards of existing asphalt surface course will be removed and replaced with 95 tons of leveling binder, N50, and 140 tons of warm-mix asphalt surface course (Mix “D”).   The existing driveway aprons will be removed and replaced in kind.  All asphalt work for this project will use warm-mix asphalt.  Small quantities of water and sanitary service components have been included for unforeseen repair work that may be necessary during the project.  Areas disturbed by construction operations will be restored with 480 square yards of topsoil and sod.  This project is located along Eastwood Avenue from Northland Avenue to Berkeley Road.

 An alternate is required to provide unit bid pricing for Reinforced Concrete Storm Sewer Pipe.  See contract for more information.

 Bids will ONLY be received and accepted via the online electronic bid service through QuestCDN.com. Bidders must be on the plan holders list through QuestCDN for bids to be accepted. To access the electronic bid form, download the project documents and click the online bidding button. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. NO paper bids will be accepted.

 Bid security is required as stated in the “Bid Security”section found on page 2 in the Instructions portion of the Bid Package.  Each prospective Bidder shall furnish a copy of a Certificate of Eligibility as issued by the Illinois Department of Transportation. (See State of Illinois Website: http://www.idot.illinois.gov/)

 The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish certificates and policies of insurance as required by the Contract.  All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12).  Contractors must provide Certified Monthly Payroll Reports.
