Why is registration required for the Remembrance Ceremony, Community Walk, and concert portion of the evening entertainment?
Security is a top priority for the City of Highland Park, the Park District of Highland Park, D113, the Gary Sinise Foundation, and all stakeholders involved in the community’s July 4, 2023 events. Registration allows for appropriate planning and allocation of resources throughout the day. Additionally, attendance for the evening performance by Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band is limited based on venue capacity.
Why do I need to register separately for the events?
Guests may register for the following options:
- Remembrance Ceremony and Community Walk
- Community Walk
- Concert & Drone Show
Each event will have designated entry checkpoints and registration-specific QR-codes, requiring guests to register separately for the morning and evening activities. A QR code for the morning events will not provide entry to the evening entertainment.
What option should I choose if I only want to attend the Remembrance Ceremony?
Individuals interested in attending the Remembrance Ceremony but not the Community Walk should still choose the “Remembrance Ceremony + Community Walk” option. Individuals may leave the secured event area when the Remembrance Ceremony concludes. Please note that QR codes are only valid for one entry scan; if you leave the secure area after the Remembrance Ceremony and then decide to participate in the walk, you will need to re-register and pass through security to regain access to the secure event area.
What events do not require registration?
Registration is not required for the Independence Day Community Picnic though encouraged through the Park District website. Individuals who only wish to view the drone display from Wolters Field do not need to register however they will be subject to on site security screenings and protocols.
Is assistance in completing the online registration form available?
Individuals who would like assistance in completing the form are encouraged to contact the City Manager’s Office (847.926.1000), the Highland Park Public Library, or the Highwood Public Library and Community Center. Please note that an email address is required, and the QR code emailed upon completion of registration will need to be shown to event staff in order to access the event areas.
How do I register if I don't have an email address?
Individuals without email addresses may contact the City Manager’s Office (847.926.1000) for assistance in registering for events.
Will on-site registration be available?
On-site registration will be available for the Remembrance Ceremony and Community Walk. Attendees for the evening entertainment at Wolters Field must register in advance as venue capacity is limited.
Is a print confirmation required for entry?
No, there is no need to print your QR code(s) if you are able to show them on your phone. All tickets issued by EnMotive are able to be downloaded in the Apple Wallet function on smartphones.
I registered multiple people; why do the tickets only display my name?
If you registered multiple guests under your name, your ticket link will display your name on the QR codes, but identify each unique code as "Ticket 1, Ticket 2, etc." Be sure to forward these codes to the members of your group.
Will I need to show ID to enter?
While you will not need to provide ID to enter the event areas, you will need to show your registration QR code. Upon arrival, attendees should proceed to a designated check-in area. Please note that you will receive a different QR code for each event. All QR codes will list the name of the person who completed the registration as well as the event name or t-shirt size associated with the order. A QR code from the Remembrance Ceremony will not provide access to the evening entertainment, even if the same email address was used for both registrations.
Do the QR codes allow in/out access?
No. Each QR code is valid for one entry scan. If individuals must leave the event area, they must re-register and re-enter through security at a check-in point. Please note that there is limited ticket availability for the evening concert; individuals who leave the ticketed area will not be guaranteed re-entry.
Where are the check-in points located?
Check-in points are identified on the following maps:
