The annual holiday lighting event is a beloved City-sponsored tradition that typically takes place in Port Clinton Square. Following advice from experts at the Department of Justice, feedback from victims and their families, and input from staff, the City has made the difficult decision to cancel the holiday lighting program at Port Clinton Square.
As always, the holiday lights will be illuminated from mid-November throughout the season. The City is actively exploring alternate locations for the tree and menorah.
The City will celebrate the holiday season with the Heart of the Holidays event series, which will continue as planned on November 19 & 26 and December 3 & 10, with holiday activities throughout Downtown Highland Park. More information will be available at enjoyhighlandpark.com/holidays.
