Message from Mayor Rotering: One-month Remembrance

August 4, 2022 -- Today is the one-month remembrance of the July 4 mass shooting in Highland Park. We remember and honor the individuals who were taken too soon, and we keep all of those injured and their families in our thoughts.

Everyone grieves at a different pace, and there is no one path toward moving forward after a tragedy. Professionals from our community are here to help during this difficult time. Call 211 or text 898211 to be immediately connected with a trained navigator who can help you access services. If you prefer an in-person appointment with a navigator, call 211 or visit www.211lakecounty.org to schedule an appointment at Family Service of Lake County or the Highwood Public Library and Community Center. 211 is free, confidential, multilingual, and available 24/7.

To help those directly impacted by shooting, the Highland Park Community Foundation has established a July 4th Highland Park Shooting Response Fund. Please visit www.HPCFIL.org to donate or learn more.

We are one. We are Highland Park.
