City Welcomes New Assistant City Manager Erin K. Jason

City of Highland Park Announces New Assistant City Manager
Erin Jason’s appointment effective March 14, 2022

February 23, 2022 – The City of Highland Park is pleased to announce the appointment of Erin K. Jason as the City’s new Assistant City Manager. Jason’s appointment is effective March 14, 2022.

Jason comes to Highland Park with more than 20 years of experience working in local government administration. Jason currently serves as Business Development Coordinator for the City of Elmhurst, where she previously held a number of different roles, including 15 years as the Deputy City Clerk/FOIA Officer.

The City received more than 100 applications for the position, which is one of six department directors reporting to the City Manager. Jason brings a wealth of economic development experience, having assisted businesses and developers in investing more than $800 million into commercial projects in Elmhurst from 2016-2021. Jason also led policy initiatives to promote walkability, outdoor dining, and other destination, experiential businesses, reducing Elmhurst’s downtown first-floor vacancy rate to less than 2%. Additionally, Jason has been responsible for overseeing the administration of Elmhurst’s TIF incentives, numerous long-range planning projects, and several marketing campaigns.

Jason holds a B.A. from Elmhurst College and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Missouri, as well as a Certificate in Economic Development from the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute.
