Public Safety Update

UPDATE June 4, 2020-- The City of Highland Park is lifting overnight exit closures on Route 41 effective today, Thursday, June 4. The closures allowed the Highland Park Police Department to better deploy its resources throughout the community. The temporary night closures impacted the following exits towards Highland Park, all of which will remain open tonight:

  • Exits onto east- and west-bound Park Avenue West
  • Exits onto east-bound Central Avenue and west-bound Deerfield Road
  • Exits onto east- and west-bound Clavey Road
As there were no verified threats of property damage to Highland Park, closing these exits was a precautionary measure in line with steps taken by neighboring communities.

Your safety is our priority, and the City will continue to closely monitor developments in coordination with area law enforcement agencies. The City will notify the community of any changes in the future through the City's eNews, emergency notification system,  Facebook  and  Twitter , and  website .
