September 2018 Union Pacific Scheduled Proactive Maintenance

August 29, 2018 -- Union Pacific Railroad is scheduled to perform proactive maintenance on the train tracks at Lake Cook Rd. (Between St. Johns Ave. and Blackhawk Rd. near Braeside Train Station) and Clavey Rd. (Between Skokie Valley Rd. and Barberry Rd. immediately West of Rt. 41) in September. Lake Cook Rd. will be closed between St. Johns Ave. and Blackhawk Road, near the Braeside Train Station. The Lake Cook Rd. underpass West of Rt. 41 will remain open and is not affected by this closure. Clavey Rd. will be closed between Skokie Valley Rd. and Barberry Rd. immediately West of Rt. 41. All traffic will be detoured to allow for these essential repairs. This work has been rescheduled multiple times this year and these dates are the last available dates the UP team is able to complete the necessary crossing rehab in 2018.

Pedestrians will be able to cross the tracks 24/7 during the project; the work is focused on the roadway section of the crossing. Parking on both the west and east side parking lots will be available for commuters at Braeside. This project should not impact parking lots for commuters or impact the train schedule.

The work affecting Lake Cook Rd. (east of Rt. 41) is anticipated to begin on September 5 and be completed by September 14. The work affecting Clavey Road (west of 41) is anticipated to begin on September 10 and be completed by September 14.
