Ready to share your favorite poems? Poet Laureate Laura Joyce-Hubbard will host a special community poetry reading on Wednesday, April 3, 6:00 - 7:00 PM at the Highland Park Public Library (494 Laurel Ave.) Community members are invited to bring a favorite poem to read to the audience. In addition to the poem text, participants should plan to share the following with the group:
- Name
- Title of the poem and author’s name
- Why this poem resonates with you
As part of the “Favorite Poems Project” national guidelines, the poem cannot be written by the reader or the reader’s family member or friend. For long poems, please plan to read no longer than 5 minutes.
