- Adventures in Composting Open House
- Sunday, May 7 from 1-3 PM at Bluegrass (1636 Old Deerfield Rd. / 847.831.0595)
- Stop by this open house at Bluegrass for complimentary light bites, composting information, and even a free food scrap bin while supplies last! Test your knowledge with a trivia contest at 2:00 PM. Registration is requested.
- Free Compost Giveaway
- Sunday, May 7 from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM at the Preserve of Highland Park (1207 Park Ave. W / 847.831.3810)
- Take home up to 20 gallons of free compost made from food scraps at this compost giveaway. Please bring containers to fill. The Park District of Highland Park will provide shovels.
- Learn All About Composting Drop-In Program
- Tuesday, May 9 from 1:30-4:00 PM at the Highland Park Public Library (494 Laurel Ave. / 847.432.0216)
- Stop by the lobby during this informational drop-in program to hear stories and tips for backyard and curbside composting, learn about compostable products, and more.
- Participants who complete a "Composting in HP" pledge can take home a free food scrap kitchen pail while supplies last.
