The Streetscape Conceptual Design Plan provides a vision for the future of Downtown Highland Park. The Plan is the result of a 15-month process that involved detailed analysis of existing conditions, integration of best practices, and community engagement. Completed in 2016, the final product is a conceptual design guidebook that provides direction on streetscape improvements, downtown gateway locations, sign concepts, improvements to the pavilion on Central Avenue, and more.
The Plan proposes three phases to implement the improvements and provides a detailed estimation of the costs associated with each element within the phases. This cost breakdown allows flexibility in implementing the plan, as the City leadership can mix and match separate parts to address specific needs or parts of the downtown.
