RFP - Alley 2023 Reconstruction Project

The work consists of reconstructing the existing gravel pavement with 1,500 square yards of an interlocking 3 1/8" thick interlocking permeable brick paver pavement. The brick pavers will be placed over a 20 inch thick stone base. 2,720 feet of concrete curb will line the edge of the brick paver pavement. The paver pavement will be drained with 915 feet of 6 inch pipe underdrains. In addition to the pavers, the alley approach pavement will be reconstructed with 6 inch thick Warm-Mix-Asphalt on 8” thick Aggregate Stone Base. Small quantities of HMA driveways and concrete sidewalk are included in this contract. Areas disturbed adjacent to the alley will be restored with 1,500 square yards of mulch and with 200 square yards of sod.

NO paper bids will be accepted.

Bid security is required as stated in the “Bid Security” section found on page 2 in the Instructions portion of the Bid Package.  Each prospective Bidder shall furnish a copy of a Certificate of Eligibility as issued by the Illinois Department of Transportation. (See State of Illinois Website:

The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish certificates and policies of insurance as required by the Contract.  All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12).  Contractors must provide Certified Monthly Payroll Reports.
