The City of Highland Park, Illinois, requests proposals from qualified proposers for the provision of booking and managing musical performers for Food Truck Thursdays, a free community event, to be held weekly for seventeen weeks on Thursdays, from June through September 2023-2025 in Jens Jensen Park for an annual amount not to exceed $21,000. The events are sponsored by Ravinia District Special Service Area Number 17 (SSA) (for more information about SSA 17, see page 5). The Agreement is for a three-year term, with an option to terminate after each year. The term of the agreement will coincide with the term of the SSA.
The selected proposer (“Contractor”) will be responsible for booking and managing three-hour performances each week during Food Truck Thursdays. The Contractor will also be responsible for providing sound production equipment, a sound management team, and a ground crew to move equipment for the musical performance. All services described are more fully described in Section II. A. of this RFP.
For the purpose of this Request for Proposals ("RFP") and the anticipated agreement, "City" means the City of Highland Park; "Services" means booking, managing, and paying musical performers to provide musical performances for three hours at each Event, as well as the provision of sound production equipment, a sound management team, and a ground crew to move equipment for the musical performance, as more fully described in this RFP; "SSA" means Special Service Area Number 17; "RD" means the Ravinia District.
The selected proposer will be invited to enter into an agreement with the City, in a form to be provided by the City ("Agreement"). The City Council has the ultimate authority to approve any proposal and to authorize the execution of an Agreement. Award of an Agreement in response to this RFP is contingent entirely on the approval of the extension of SSA 17, which is scheduled to be considered by the City Council on November 28, 2022.
