RFP - 2022 Half Day Water Main Improvement Project

The City of Highland Park will receive Electronic bids for the:
2022 Half Day Road Water Main Improvement Project
until 11:00 a.m., March 31, 2022

This work consists of the construction of 2,500’ of new 12” diameter ductile iron water main along Half Day Road, along with the installation of 2,360’ of combination curb and gutter will be installed with type B-6.12 combination concrete curb and gutter, 1,739’ of 1-1/2” copper water service line replacement.  2,000 square yards of existing asphalt pavement will be removed and replaced with 494 tons of binder, N50, 988 tons of warm-mix asphalt surface course (Mix “D”), 20 structure adjustments.  The existing driveway aprons will be removed and replaced in kind.  All asphalt work for this project will use warm-mix asphalt.  Areas disturbed by construction operations will be restored with 2,024 square yards of topsoil and sod.  This project is located along Half Day Road, east of US 41.  The work also consists of modifying the existing traffic signal at the intersection of Half Day Road and Summit Avenue with a new controller and cabinet, pedestrian countdown signal heads, APS pedestrian push buttons, pedestrian push button posts, and relocate the existing light detector amplifier.

Bids will ONLY be received and accepted via the online electronic bid service through QuestCDN.com. Bidders must be on the plan holders list through QuestCDN for bids to be accepted. To access the electronic bid form, download the project documents and click the online bidding button. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. NO paper bids will be accepted.

Bid security is required as stated in the “Bid Security” section found on page 2 in the Instructions portion of the Bid Package.  Each prospective Bidder shall furnish a copy of a Certificate of Eligibility as issued by the Illinois Department of Transportation. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish certificates and policies of insurance as required by the Contract.  All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12).  Contractors must provide Certified Monthly Payroll Reports.
