 Base Bid:

The work consists of reinforcing (shoring) the Beech Street and St. Johns Avenue bridges which are used to cross several local Highland Park ravines.  The shoring of the bridges shall consist of installing new steel beams under the existing precast box beams that have been determined by a Structural Engineer to need additional reinforcement.  The bridge deck load will be carried by the new steel beams as the precast box beams bear on the new steel beams.  The new steel beams shall be supported at the ends to the piers and/or abutment by steel clip connections with post installed, epoxy grouted anchor bolts or by steel bracket with post installed, epoxy grouted anchor bolts.  The new steel beams shall be lowered in place from above to eliminate or minimize work from the bottom of the ravine channel.
