The City of Highland Park promotes the use of green infrastructure in an effort to conserve water and improve on-site stormwater management. As part of the program, the City is selling a limited number of 55-gallon rain barrels to Highland Park residents for the subsidized price of $25.00 per barrel. The rain barrels with installation connections are available on a first-come, first-served basis. A limited number of 55-gallon rain barrels are now available for residents for $25 each. Get yours while supplies last!

A rain barrel collects and stores rainwater draining from your roof. Rain barrels can help minimize area flooding and collected water can be used to supplement watering lawn, gardens, and for other landscape watering purposes.

To get your rain barrel, please complete a rain barrel request form below and mail a $25 check per purchased rain barrel to the City of Highland Park or visit City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue during business hours. Requests will not be accepted without payment.

Once you have filled out a form and submitted payment, you will receive a receipt. Please use the paid receipt to pick up your rain barrel at Highland Park Recycling Center located at 1180 Half Day Road, Highland Park. Recycling Center hours are every Tuesday between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM and the first Saturday of each month from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Please come during these times, with paid receipt, to collect your rain barrel.
