Working Together for a Bright Future

We live in a vibrant city and I want to thank you for your involvement in making it so. Your input, ideas, and enthusiasm are what make Highland Park hum.

We just wrapped up a very passionate election season. Throughout the campaigns, we heard diverse voices, yet a common theme: a deep dedication to our community's best interests now and for the future. As we welcome and congratulate our new and re-elected leaders, each of us is eager to strengthen productive partnerships and make a lasting difference to this place we call home.

This is a moment to embrace creativity and collaboration. It is an opportunity to work towards a common purpose. Together, we will continue to create a shared vision and implement plans for our city, schools, park district, and township: a vision of Highland Park that is thriving, safe and equitable.

I ask that as a community we harness our passion and strive for a culture where we challenge ourselves to listen, to learn, and to trust more. Have a question or concern? Ask a reliable source before leaping to a conclusion. Together we can achieve so much. Apart, we are wasting precious resources and achieving little.

Our job is to find common ground and be impactful - transparently and respectfully. The progress we realize today will make current and future generations proud to call Highland Park home.
