Highland Park Recycling Drive

The City of Highland Park and Park District of Highland Park have partnered with Savers to provide a convenient drop off location for gently used shoes, clothing, accessories, books, linens and small household items. On Saturday, May 6 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, a Savers truck will be located in the parking lot of the Hidden Creek Aqua Park, 1220 Fredrickson Place. This is a wonderful opportunity to do some spring-cleaning and recycle unused or unwanted household items.

The Savers family of stores is a for-profit, global thrift retailer offering great quality, gently used clothing, accessories and household goods. Their business model of purchasing, reselling and recycling gives communities a smart way to shop and keeps more than 650 million pounds of used goods from landfills each year. Savers helps more than 120 nonprofit organizations by paying them for donated goods, which supports their vital community programs and services.

If you are not able to attend the event, but would like to recycle shoes or clothing, please visit the Highland Park Recycling Center located at 1180 Half Day Road on Tuesday or the first Saturday of the month from 7 AM – 1 PM. The Highland Park Recycling Center accepts:
Clothing and Textiles Recycling
Foam #6 Recycling
Light Bulbs (unbroken)
Rechargeable Batteries - Nickel Cadmium (NiCd), Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMh), Lithium Ion (Li-ion)
