IMG_0139.JPG
The Character Counts Steering Committee is currently accepting nominations for the 2017 Robert Barnard Character Counts Awards. These awards recognize and honor students, residents and members of the business community for consistently demonstrating the six pillars of character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.

The Human Relations Commission (HRC) is accepting nominations for the 2017 Humanitarian Award. The HRC established the Highland Park Humanitarian award to recognize an individual who has rendered outstanding service to the Highland Park community. Any resident who has a record of substantial and sustained giving or has, through his or her efforts, made a significant contribution to changing lives in the Highland Park community, may be nominated. Areas of service may include, but are not limited to, education, charitable work, philanthropy, environmental advocacy, public policy, and promoting the welfare of this community and its residents.

Applications along with additional information can be found at www.cityhpil.com/humanitarianaward or at www.cityhpil.com/charactercounts. Please email the completed form to Lfrey@cityhpil.com, no later than Monday, March 13, 2017.

Award recipients will be invited to an awards ceremony at Highland Park High School, 433 Vine Ave, on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. For more information regarding the award, please contact Laura Frey, Manager of Youth and Senior Services, at 847.432.4110 or Lfrey@cityhpil.com.
