The City of Highland Park was incorporated on March 11, 1869, and two years from now we will be celebrating our City’s Sesquicentennial – its one hundred and fiftieth anniversary. A Steering Committee will meet on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at 7 PM at Fire Department Headquarters to begin the preliminary discussion to plan this milestone anniversary. A call for volunteers to serve on a committee will be issued this spring and the public will be invited to participate in an Idea Summit. We look forward to working with the entire community as we plan a celebration of our city’s history, progress and the unique individuals who have made our community the special place that we all love.
